Restorative practices and restorative justice approaches in schools and universities

Abstract

Restorative practices and restorative justice have emerged as effective tools for fostering peaceful coexistence and managing conflicts in educational settings. This article examines their impact in schools and universities, highlighting the strengthening of interpersonal relationships, the reduction of disciplinary incidents, and the promotion of inclusion. The research, based on a qualitative approach and literature review, emphasizes benefits such as increased empathy and community engagement, while also addressing challenges like initial resistance and limited resources. It concludes that the systematic adoption of these practices can transform institutional culture, creating healthier and more cooperative educational environments.
