Teacher's Word: Reflections on School Safety and the Culture of Peace in the Égide Project

Abstract

This article analyzes the perceptions of teachers, coordinators and managers of the Municipal Education Network in Campinas regarding school safety and a culture of peace in the Égide Program (Integrated Strategy Against Incidents in Schools). Based on interviews during the Selection Process with professionals from the five regions of the city, it identifies challenges, expectations and contributions to preventing school violence. Developed by PUC-Campinas, in partnership with the Departments of Public Security and Education, the project proposes intersectoral strategies. The study highlights the importance of listening to educators and strengthening relationships between school, family and community to ensure a safe and democratic school environment.
