Abstract

This short essay aims to contribute, both retrospectively and prospectively, to a perception of the expectations, disenchantments and anxieties evoked by teaching in higher education. It is a subjective appraisal of the temporalities of work resulting from the immersion in an academic career. It highlights issues and problems and the need to place work and professional activity in an organisational context at the centre of our collective lives. This is a reflection based on academia, but which can certainly be extrapolated to different institutional contexts, non-academic environments and professional fields.
